Marmara University's Design Department of Vocational School of Technical Sciences completed its 2014-2015 education training year and sent its 4th period graduates with the year - end event entitled “Lament for Silent Heroes". In the event that was held in historical Haydarpasa campus on 17 June 2015, the designs prepared by the second class students were presented with the parade while those of the university lecturers were presented with the exposition.
On occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Çanakkale Battles and under the supervision of academicians, Head of Design Department Assist.Prof. Nuriye İŞGÖREN, Lecturer Dr. Demet ÖZNAZ, Lecturer Dr. Mine Şakire ARIK DERİN, Lecturer Çimen BAYBURTLU and Fashion Designer Can Yunus ÇETİNKAYA, the collection entitled “Lament for Silent Heroes” received attention. The collection that was held at the historical atmosphere of Tıbbiye School (Darülfünun Medical Faculty) in which there was no graduates in 1915 because a lot of its students became martyr in the battle was presented with the choreography which appealed to both eye and feeling.
In her speech, Head of Design Department Assist.Prof. Nuriye İşgören said “ On occasion of the 100th anniversary of Çanakkale Battles, we want to appeal to both eye and feelings by treating this sorrowful thema. We thanks all shareholders for their contributions and supports.” Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akalın and Director of Vocational School of Technical Sciences Assoc. Prof. Nevzat Onat made a speech in that event.
Under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Gülhan Acar Büyükpehlivan, Lecturer in the Department of Audio Visual Techniques and Media Production, Vocational school of Technical Sciences, the participants were given the badge with the star and crescent in the event which all students from department prepared the materials such as affiche, invitation, journal, catalog and promotion and received the great deal of attention.
Within the event, the exhibiton entitled “Çanakkale Images in its 100th Anniversary” was offered with the impressive presentation and received the deal of attention which prepared by Assist.Prof. Nuriye İŞGÖREN, Assist. Prof. Erkan İŞGÖREN, Assist. Prof. Gülhan ACAR BÜYÜKPEHLİVAN, Assist. Prof. Leyla ULUSMAN, Lecturer Dr. Demet ÖZNAZ, Lecturer Dr. Çimen BAYBURTLU and the fashion designer Can Yunus Çetinkaya.
