Marmara University Hosted the LINSTAT 2016 Conference

The conference which most recently was held in Sweden, 2014 was hosted by Marmara University between 22-25 August 2016 at Congress and Culture Center of Istanbul University this year.

A wide range of topics in both theoretical and applied statistics was discussed in the conference that aimed to bring together researchers in the world and Turkey sharing an interest in a variety of topics related to statistics and offer them a possibility to discuss current developments in these subjects. Young scientists were rewarded for Best Oral Presentation and Best Poster by The Scientific Committee in conference and scientists being rewarded were invited to make a speech in the conference which will be held in Poland, 2018.

Among Turkish participants, while Ömer Altındağ with his study entitled as “Estimation of the Weibull Renewal Function under Progressively Censored Data” and Tuğba Söküt AÇAR with her study entitled as “Assessing the Influential Observations for Linear Regression Model with Second-Order Autoregressive Errors” were rewarded for Best Oral Presentation, Ayça Pamukçu with her study entitled as “Investigating the Association Structure Parametrisation within the Joint Modelling of Longitudinal and Survival Data Framework” was rewarded for Best Poster.
