Our Dean Professor Yasemin Özkan Was A Guest on “Health Reports” Program

In the program, Dr. Yasemin Özkan gave information about the treatments which are applied to our disabled patients in Marmara University Dentistry Application and Research Center as well as about the special training given to disabled families on oral and dental health.

Besides giving  important information about the subject of digital dentistry she said that when conventional methods are used the procedures such as restorative dental treatment, filling, covering, orthodontic implant, advanced surgical planning, etc. last for an average of 15 days however when digital methods are used all of these can be done in the same day.

At the later stages of the program, the difficulties of mentally disabled patients were discussed when it came to the area of oral and dental health. Our dean stated that mentally disabled citizens are mostly diagnosed with an impaired jaw structure and that patients are treated free of charge by applying general anesthesia by orthognathic surgery.

Özkan announced that the first treatment center that will provide free services to disabled people in Istanbul will be opened by our university and answered the questions about the implant and gave advice on dental care.
