Our University Was Represented at International Green Biotechnology Congress

Assistant Dean of Engineering Faculty and MITTO Coordinator Prof.Dr. Dr. Ahu Altınkut Uncuoglu served as the organizational responsible of the Congress.In the Congress; 120 scientists, specializing in gene regulation, plant gene expression analysis, plant microbial interactions, omni approaches, DNA sequencing genotyping studies, secondary metabolite production, phytoremediation, genetic resources conservation, nanotechnology and biophotonics in agriculture,shared their studies. In addition to researchers working in many universities and agricultural research centers in Turkey, scientists from Italy, Finland, Pakistan, India, South Africa and New Zealand also participated in the congress. The opening speech of the Congress was delivered by the Rector of GTI. Dr. Haluk Görgün. In his talk, he talked about biotechnology being a growing market and gave examples of statistics that pointed out that the future income of green biotechnology would increase even further in the future. Poster presentations were held on September 13th at the Congress where oral sessions were held between September 11th and 12th. Participants had the opportunity to learn about and exchange ideas about biotechnology work in this International Congress and other institutions. The International Green Biotechnology Congress, which will be held in 2019, was decided to be held with the support of GTI at Marmara University.
