Special Dental Treatment for Disabled People from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry

This treatment, which covers all kinds of dental problems of the disabled people, cannot be performed in every center because it requires anesthesia. Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry of Marmara University Prof. Dr. Yasemin Özkan  said  "There are about 8.5 million disabled citizens in Turkey. 400,000 of them are mentally disabled. Because there is so much demand, we cannot treat all disabled people here" and  also announced that they are planning to open Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry Center for Disabled People. Özkan said that this center will be the first in Istanbul and that it would be a costly business and they expect support from private and legal institutions. She stated that there is a limited treatment center where patients can go, and so that  this center can be a guide for the patients.
