Young Innovative Health Care Providers Club At the Pink Festival
Marmara University Young Innovative Health Care Providers Club participated in various stand and workshops of the festival which was organized for the second time within the “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” and attended by the patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and patients’ relatives. The Pink Festival organized by the Breast Health Association ( MEMEDER) within the “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” was held in Istanbul.
Founder and Honorary Chairman of MEMEDER Prof. Dr. Vahit Özmen and Board Chairman of the MEMEDER Ülkü Büyükgönenç said that it is avaliable to get information about the importance of early diagnosis and treatment methodes of breast cancer and the remedies to overcome this disease in the festival that was held in Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital. Young Innovative Health Care Providers Club Advisor and Pink Festival Moderator Dr. Lect. Nuran Akyurt said the frequency of breast disease has doubled over the last 20 years and nearly 25 thousand women are diagnosed with breast cancer . In her speech, Akyurt added that MEMEDER has carried out the awareness studies in the breast health field for 11 years to providing information to womens both from scientific projects and free screening projects. Within the Pink Festival, Members of Young Innovative Health Care Providers Club came together with the patients who has been diagnosed with breast cancer and patients' relatives.
The attendants of the festival have been informed about the breast cancer and last developments in treatment of breast cancer through these science and art events. Besides providing informations about breast health, sexuality and fertility in breast cancer process, breath health in media from famous women's eyes, the enjoyful workshops were also held in the festival. The event ended with the presentation of the attendance certificates.
