Short Short Film Festival in Marmara

The festival started with the opening speech of Doğancan Kement, Chairman of the Film and Media Design Workshop Club, at the 125th Anniversary Open Amphitheater. “We had a lot of activities in this short time as a small community. This festival was one of our greatest dreams. Today, we live the joy and pride of our success with our valued supporters and participants. We will continue to act with the motto of  “production together” so that young people like us can realize their dreams together with us. The festival  continued with the conference on  "Short Film Sector in Turkey" . The conference was attended by producer Bulut Reyhanoğlu, cinema writer Fırat Sayıcı, director Muzaffer Çağlar and producer-director Çağla Çağlar. Speaking about short film production and distribution; the participants made comparisons between  festival in Turkey and world. Speaking about the development of short film producers from past to present, participants also mentioned that festivals such as the Short Short Film Festival are useful in supporting production.  After the answering of  questions of audiences,  film writer Tolga Murat Şen made a speech about " Netflix and Its Palce in Turkey Market". Şen said that cinema and TV series are in a fundamental change in terms of time and subject, and added  the business areas in this sector have evolved in a different direction.

The second day of the festival started with the screening of the films in the final. Following the screening of the directors of the films, a conversation was held with Aybars Bora Kahyaoğlu, the screenwriter of the series such as Pusat, Acı Hayat and Sakarya Fırat. Kahyaoğlu, who also worked with important directors and producers in America, talked about little or wrongly known topics about the sector. Through his experience, he gave advice about internet series and short film production. After the interview, the award ceremony was held in 5 different categories. In the Best Film and Best Director category, FEGERE (Cahit Kaya Demir) won the production support award for ShortbyShort and Çağlar Motion. The Best Screenplay  award was AH BİR ATAŞ VER (Gökhan Kaya), Best Documentary award was SATLIK (Nurselin Aktaş) and the Best Editing  award was KERATA (Kasım Ördek). The directors of the award-winning films were presented with plaques prepared by the Film and Media Design Workshop Club by our festival speakers.
