Sports Science Faculty Student Of Marmara University Has Become Balkan Champion

While the National Team won 10 championship medals, three Turkey record were broken. 60 meters hurdle race winner of the Balkan championship Eruygur's, has broken  the record with 7.91 degree. Eruygun returned to the arena of Balkan Salon,in which he had come third in 2012, as champion six years later. Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences  Prof. Salih Pınar PhD  accepted Batuhan Eruygun at his office and congratulated him  stating that the Faculty is happy with the national and international achievements of the students who are trained as well as contributing to bring Turkish sports to better places with the experience and knowledge they have always been serving Turkish sports with scientific studies. Eruygun, who was one of the star names of the National Team as the first athlete to run a 60-meter hurdle race for less than 8 seconds,  got cancer and underwent chemotherapy twice. "I have had a lot of hard times and now we have good days," said the 26-year-old student at the Faculty of Sport Sciences .His goal is to run in the Olympics, which he’s never competed before. "Despite the good situation in 2016, I was not able to go to Rio because of the illness. I always had an obstacle at my best times and now I am feeling very good and I dream about running at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. I got cancer twice and I am champion again, and I believe I will achieve my goal."
