Marmara  University Received Two Awards Within the 2023 TÜBA Academy Prizes

The Science Awards of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Awards were presented to their owners at the ceremony held at the Presidential Complex with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Two scientists from Marmara University were deemed worthy of awards at the 2017 TÜBA and TÜBİTAK Science Awards Ceremony held on Wednesday,  December 27, 2023.

Prof. Dr. Yusuf Kaynak from the Faculty of Technology, Mechanical Engineering Department, received the 100th Anniversary TÜBİTAK Engineering Sciences Incentive Award from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his qualified work in the fields of "shape memory alloys, which are widely used in industries such as Aerospace, Aerospace and Biomedical, development of processes for the manufacturing of components from titanium and nickel-based materials, development of models that predict the surface and subsurface mechanical and microstructural properties of components and improvement of surface properties."

In the Social Sciences and Humanities category,  the Kemal Karpat Special Award was awarded to Prof. Dr. Yüksel Çelik from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History, for his work titled "Rami Barracks: Aydın in the Era of Mahmud II - Headquarters of Despotic Modernization, Vakıf Bank Kültür Yayınları, İstanbul 2022”.
