The 109th Anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs’ Day  Was Held

18 March Çanakkale Victory commemoration program was held on Monday, March 18, at İbrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall, Göztepe Campus, Marmara University.  The program started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem.

In his opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt said "This victory reminds us that we must fight until the end to ensure that our country survives”. He commemorated Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and all his comrades, and all our martyrs with respect and mercy on the 109th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory.

At the program, Prof. Dr. Ali Satan, Lecturer of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History,  gave a speech about the Çanakkale Front and the importance of this war in the world conjuncture. He was presented with a plaque by Mustafa Kurt after his speech.

After screening the Çanakkale War documentary, the Marmara University Turkish Music Ensemble and Atatürk Education Faculty Turkish Folk Music Choir performed the "Call from Anatolia to Çanakkale" concert.
