President of Turkish Court of Accounts Seyit Ahmet Baş Was The Guest of the Rectorate Conferences Series

The conference held within the scope of Rectorate Conference Series was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and Vice Rector Prof.Dr. Mustafa Çelen. President of Turkish Court of Accounts Seyit Ahmet Baş told about the importance of auditing and its historical development in our country. He emphasized that auditing is indispensable  for modern economics. Baş, talking about the  history of auditing and economics in detail after Seljuk, Ottoman and tanzimat reform era, said “If we know our history we believe in ourselves”.

Baş presented to Rector Prof.Dr. Erol Özvar some books named “History of Middle East Accounting”, published by the Presidency of Turkish Court of Accounts; “Ottoman Fiscal History”and “Turkey’s Economy History”, belonging to Lecturer Prof.Dr. Ahmet Tabakoğlu of  Marmara University Faculty of Economics; and earliest form of the Turkish National Anthem published in Official Gazette. Rector Erol Özvar presented the books named “The Ottoman Finances: Institutions and Budgets 1-2”,  which he edited it with Mehmet Genç.  

The conference ended with the answering of the participants’ questions by President of Turkish Court of Accounts Seyit Ahmet Baş.
