"No Barrier Where There Is a Woman” Talk Held at Marmara University

The Economic and Social Research and Application Center on Women (ESKAR) at our university organized an online talk focusing on women with disabilities to highlight the economic and social power of women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8.

Lecturer Zuhal Özgenç Pek, Coordinator of Marmara University’s Disabled Students Unit, participated as a guest in the talk, which was moderated by ESKAR Director Fatma Ayanoğlu. The discussion focused on the participation of individuals with disabilities in the labor market, highlighting good practice examples that support the education, social life, and employment of women with disabilities.

The interview emphasized the transformative power of women, underlining the idea that "barriers can be overcome wherever women are present." The talk contributed significantly to raising awareness for women with disabilities on International Working Women's Day.
