Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, was commemorated on the 87th anniversary of his passing with a program held in front of the Atatürk Monument at Marmara University’s Göztepe Campus in the November 10 Atatürk Remembrance Ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Okur, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Gül Üstün, Prof. Dr. Ümit Süleyman Şehirli, and Prof. Dr. Yaşar Kabataş, as well as Secretary General Hasan Şahin, together with academic and administrative staff and students.
The program began with Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Okur laying a wreath at the Atatürk Monument. This was followed by a moment of silence observed at 9:05 a.m. accompanied by the siren, after which the Turkish National Anthem was performed under the direction of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Uslu from the Department of Fine Arts Education at Marmara University’s Atatürk Faculty of Education.
The memory of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was honored with respect, gratitude, and longing by the Marmara University community during the ceremony.
