Patent Collaboration in Health Technologies from Marmara University

An important step has been taken toward the commercialization of R&D studies carried out in the field of health technologies between Marmara University and İskefe Holding. The transfer agreement for the patent titled “Production of Microneedles by Dynamic Light Processing Method for Transdermal Drug Delivery”, developed by Prof. Dr. Oğuzhan Gündüz and Dr. Tuba Bedir from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Faculty of Technology, Marmara University, was signed at a ceremony held at the Rectorate Building of Marmara University on Thursday, October 16.

The agreement was signed by Marmara University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Okur and İskefe Holding CEO Yusuf Aydemir. Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ümit Süleyman Şehirli, Director of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Application and Research Center (MİTTO) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şengör, and inventors Prof. Dr. Oğuzhan Gündüz and Dr. Tuba Bedir also attended the ceremony. Within the scope of the agreement, the rights of the invention were transferred to Kazlıçeşme Deri Ürünleri Research Development Industry and Trade Limited Company. The contract includes the transfer of production methods related to the invention to the Kazlıçeşme Deri Ürünleri R&D Center, while also containing provisions that protect the rights of Marmara University and the inventors regarding scientific research and academic publications.

This strategic collaboration stands out as a significant step toward strengthening an innovative and pioneering research ecosystem by integrating Marmara University’s strong research capacity in health technologies and biomaterials with industry.
