Rector Prof.Dr. Erol Özvar welcomed our PhD student Songül Ulağ, who attracted attention with her study on artificial blood vessel, on the International Women’s Day

An artificial blood vessel has been developed by using hydrogel constructs that are component of the human body, within the scope of  the research carried out in the Nanotechnology Center.  This artificial blood vessel became compatible with human body after assessment of cell viability for use as proper material in tissue engineering. Carried out within 100/2000 CoHE  Doctoral Scholarship,  the  study of Songül Ulağ was published by Wiley Publisher on behalf of ChemistrySelect.

Research for artificial blood vessel has been conducted under the leadership of Marmara University Nanotechnology Center and with the cooperation of Memorial Hospital, Penn State University, Medicine Faculty of Marmara University and İstanbul Arel University.
