The SABİOTEK Strategic Meeting, held at Yıldız Technical University on Tuesday, February 16, with the participation of the Rectors of Marmara University, Yıldız Technical University, and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, finalized the roadmap regarding Turkey’s objectives in health biotechnology and planned new centers of excellence.
The meeting, hosted by SABİOTEK (Joint Application and Research Center for Excellence in Health Biotechnology)—an entity established through the tripartite collaboration of these universities to enhance Turkey’s national competency in health technologies—was attended by Marmara University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Okur, Yıldız Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Rector Prof. Dr. Nuri Aydın, Marmara University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ümit Süleyman Şehirli, Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Yusuf Kaynak, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Korkut Ulucan, Director of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Center Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şengör, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Vice Rector and SABİOTEK Director Prof. Dr. Emine Elif Güzel Meydanlı and SABİOTEK Deputy Director Prof. Dr. Cem Bülent Üstündağ.
During the meeting, the center’s current capacity was analyzed within the framework of recent developments in the global biotechnology market, and detailed evaluations were conducted on innovative collaboration models designed to fortify university-industry integration.
