THE LOSS OF THE WORLD OF SCIENCE

Prof. Fuat Sezgin PhD,sharing the contributions of the Muslims to the history of world science and technology ,lost his life in the hospital where he was treated, which distressed the community of Marmara University  deeply.

Prof. Fuat Sezgin PhD, attending Marmara University's 135th anniversary ceremony as "honorary guest" on January 12, 2018, was valued greatly by Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan,who participated in the ceremony as well. Prof. Fuat Sezgin PhD did great studies on Islam science and the history of technology that are irreplaceable.

Professor Sezgin's History Museum of Islamic Science,founded in Frankfurt, Germany, has the first and most comprehensive collection of the world in this field. The Museum of Islamic Science and History of Technology, which is established with great efforts in Istanbul in 2008, is an invaluable science and culture treasure which is exhibited by being reproduced with the original drawings of instruments, tools and devices of works of the Muslim scientists. In the library section of the museum, more than 20 rare works is presented to the world of science.

Prof. Fuat Sezgin, to whom many universities gave the title of honorary PhD , is the owner of the Presidential Culture and Art Grand Award.

Marmara University wishes Prof. Fuat Sezgin PhD mercy from Almighty Allah and offers condolences to his sorrowful family, our nation ,the world of science and Islamic World.
