The “Power of Women in Entrepreneurship” panel, organized by Marmara University in collaboration with the Istanbul Governorship and the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, was held on Wednesday, September 25, at the Dr. İbrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall of Marmara University.
Aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs and encouraging their active participation in the entrepreneurship ecosystem, the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Gül Üstün, Vice Rector of Marmara University.
The opening session featured speeches by Istanbul Deputy Governor Serap Özmen Çetin, Istanbul Provincial Director of the Ministry of Family and Social Services Ömer Turan, and Prof. Dr. Fatma Ayanoğlu, Director of Marmara University’s Center for Women’s Studies in Economic and Social Fields (ESKAR).
Following the opening speeches, the panel session featured presentations by Meliha Öztürk from the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Trade, Dr. Ertuğrul Çetinkaya, Director of KOSGEB IMES, Burcu Sulucan from the Istanbul Office of the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (TKDK), Fatma Aydoğdu, Vice Chair of the TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council, and Canan Binal Yılmaz, Director of Corporate Communications, Sustainability, and Social Impact at Hepsiburada, who shared their experiences and insights on women’s entrepreneurship.
Held under the theme “Strong Women, Strong Families, Strong Türkiye,” the panel discussed the opportunities and challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, as well as potential support mechanisms and collaboration opportunities to strengthen women’s role in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The panel concluded with discussions on promoting women’s entrepreneurship and enhancing its contribution to society.
