Rector Okur Addresses Capital and Social Responsibility
Expressing his satisfaction with the partnership between the University and SPL at the beginning of his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Okur remarked, “I believe Marmara University is Türkiye’s leading institution in banking, insurance, actuarial sciences, and capital markets.”

Emphasizing that capital should not solely be considered an economic power, Rector Okur remarked, “It is necessary to discuss not only how capital is used, but also how it is accumulated and acquired,” drawing attention to the importance of ethics, responsibility, and sustainability. Referring also to the transformative role of education, Rector Okur emphasized the importance of raising individuals equipped not only with scientific competence but also with social awareness, noting that universities undertake a critical responsibility in this process. Concluding his speech, Prof. Dr. Okur thanked the academics, institutional representatives, and organizers who contributed to the symposium and wished for a productive program.
