Marmara University was the first institution in Turkey to exhibit its graduate studies in the database of the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global (PQDT).
Cambridge-based ProQuest Dissertations & Theses is a global online database that indexes, summarizes and provides full-text access to academic theses. As of January 27, 2021, the ProQuest database will include master and doctoral full-text theses included in the Marmara University academic collection, which has been expanding its scope every year since 1983. Our university's scientific studies will also gain wide visibility and recognition through citations in major subject indexes and Google Scholar. Thus, members of research universities and leading research institutions around the world will be able to access our university's master and doctoral dissertations.
Lecturer Dr. Güssün Güneş, Head of Marmara University Library and Documentation Department, said: “It is exciting to be the first Turkish academic institution to contribute to the database of ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global. This development will raise our global profile and at the same time advance our mission as a pioneering, international and contemporary university."
