Marmara University Wins First Prize at TEKNOFEST 2023

The 6th Aviation, Space and Technology Festival "TEKNOFEST 2023", organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, was held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between April 27 and May 1.

The stand of Marmara University, one of the most important participants of the festival, attracted the attention of visitors for 5 days with its projects prepared by our students and academicians. Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt visited our university's stand within the scope of the festival and got information about the teams participating in TEKNOFEST. 

Within the scope of the festival, in which many organizations that play a critical role in the development of national technology in Turkey took part as stakeholders, Marmara University competed in 15 categories with 19 project teams. The MarCO Team, which participated in Teknofest2023 in the category of "Digital Technologies in the Industry" with the Autonomous Vehicle Project, won the first cup and was awarded a monetary award of 40.000 Turkish Liras. Our students Mehmet Mete Gündüz, Fatih Küçük, Mustafa Erdem Tusun, Kaya Sertel, Mert Günildes, Özgür Dilmaç, Ahmet Muhittin Geyik, Metehan Çetinkaya, Yusuf Bayındır, Yiğit Hınıslı, Hasibe Deniz Sayılı, Eylül Beril Yurttaş took part in the project team led by Talha Boz.

MarCO is a TEKNOFEST team established to reduce the burden of the developing industry on the employees, to increase productivity, and to carry out studies in Industry 4.0 standards in order to maintain productivity in a sustainable way. The biggest motivation for the establishment of the team is to prepare young engineers for the industry while they are still in the learning process so that Turkey can keep up with the production trend that has become autonomous with Industry 4.0.
