The 62nd Graduation Ceremony of the Marmara University Faculty of Theology for the 2024–2025 Academic Year was held on Saturday, July 19, in the Faculty of Theology Conference Hall. The ceremony was attended by Marmara University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. İsmail Safa Üstün, vice deans, faculty members, graduating students, and their families.
The ceremony began with an opening speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Prof. Dr. İsmail Safa Üstün. Then, Marmara University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt took the stage and congratulated the graduating students, emphasizing that since the day they stepped into the university, they have undergone a meaningful process shaped by knowledge, effort, patience, and faith. “The theology education you have received is not only professional training but also a refinement of the heart and a process of building society,” said Rector Kurt. He noted that the students have been equipped not only with academic knowledge but also with a sense of stance, ethics, and direction.
Highlighting that being a graduate of Marmara University is a privilege, Kurt stated that this sense of belonging constitutes a strong identity carried throughout life. “Today, you are not only completing an academic journey but also stepping into a lifelong identity. Always take pride in being a ‘Marmaralı,’ a graduate of ‘Marmara Theology,’ and never lose your connection with your university,” he said.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of diplomas, the traditional cap-tossing, and a group photo session.
