Yıldız Toksoy “Heritage To The Future” Porcelain Decoration Exhibition Opened

The porcelain decoration exhibition titled "Heritage to the Future", jointly realized by Marmara University and porcelain decoration artist Yıldız Toksoy as a social responsibility project and dedicated to Marmara University students by the artist, was opened at the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum.

Yıldız Toksoy's “Heritage to the Future” Porcelain Decoration Exhibition, which the artist produced throughout her life and summarized its purpose with her own words, “I wanted to entrust the works that I have prepared since my youth to the young people who are our future”, will be open to visitors at the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum between 3rd-16th October, 2022. 

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by the President of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar. In his speech, he said, “I congratulate Marmara University for this organization that has a social responsibility dimension. I congratulate Yıldız Toksoy, who shared the most important works of her artistic life with Marmara University in order to contribute to students.” Marmara University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt said in his speech “I am very happy to be with you in this ancient place where art and history meet. On behalf of Marmara University, I would like to thank our Ministry of Culture and Tourism for their unwavering support, especially the esteemed artist Yıldız Toksoy, the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum, our sponsors, our staff who contributed to the exhibition, and all art lovers who visited the exhibition. Yıldız Toksoy, who made a speech for the opening, said, “I would like to thank today's architects President of CoHE Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, Rector of Marmara University Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt and Secretary General Murat Arısal and Marmara University staff who contributed to the exhibition.”

The exhibition was opened by cutting the ribbon after President of CoHE Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt presented the 'Certificate of Gratitude' to Yıldız Toksoy. Visitors were accompanied by a concert performed by the Marmara University Turkish Music Ensemble under the direction of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Uslu.
