Gastroenterology Institute Liver Research Center Fatty Liver Screening Unit Was Opened

Marmara University has put another very important center in the service of public health with the opening of the unit that provides Fatty Liver Screening at the Gastroenterology Institute Liver Research Center located in the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Complex. The opening ceremony of the Gastroenterology Institute Liver Research Center Fatty Liver Screening Unit was held on August 21, at the new building of the Marmara University Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Complex Gastroenterology Institute, with the participation of  Rector Prof. Dr.  Mustafa Kurt and many guests.

At the opening ceremony, Gastroenterology Institute Director Prof. Dr. Fatih Eren gave a speech explaining the detection and treatment process of fatty liver disease. After the speech, the center was opened with the participation of Marmara University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çelen, Prof. Dr. Ömer Akgiray, General Secretary Dr. Murat Arısal and protocol. Rector Prof. Dr. Kurt thanked everyone who contributed to the opening of this new center and wished it to be beneficial to all our people.

The Fatty Liver Screening Center includes Fibroscan measurement, biological material collection for further examination of patients, Anthropometric Measurement and Diet Polyclinic units, where patients' metabolic rates, bone, muscle and water masses are measured. There is also a patient education room where information is given about non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, a Liver Molecular Biology Laboratory where biological parameters are investigated for scientific research, and a seminar room for course purposes.

The Fatty Liver Research Center, which will serve 50 people a day, started to serve on August 22, 2023, at Marmara University Gastroenterology Institute Liver Research Center.
