“Huseyn Javid and Turkey” International Symposium Held

"Huseyn Javid and Turkey" International Symposium, organized by Marmara University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Turkish Language and Literature with Azerbaijan Education, Culture and Solidarity Association, was held on Friday, 4th November, at the İbrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall, Göztepe Campus, Marmara University.

The opening speech of the symposium was made by  Prof. Dr. Haluk Harun Duman from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. In his speech, Duman stated the importance of writers, poets, artists for societies and talked about the importance of Huseyn Javid for Turkish society. Emphasizing the importance of language unity, he concluded his speech by saying "As long as we move forward on the path of civilization with unity in language and thought". AZEKSOD President Dr. Şergiyye Mammedova talked about the importance of Huseyn Javid's personality, life and the works he left.

Azerbaijani Deputy Prof. Dr. Rafael Hüseynov gave his speech under the title of “Eternal Freedom and the Poet of Heaven, Javid”. For Huseyn Javid; “He did not remain only as an Azerbaijani poet thanks to his close view of Europe and his view of the world from above.” said Prof. Dr. Huseynov ended his speech by commemorating Huseyn Javid with respect and gratitude.

In the first session moderated by Assoc. Prof. Erdinç Aslan, the participants and the topics discussed were as follows: Prof. Dr. Eyyüp Guliyev (Azerbaijan), Naming History of Huseyn Javid Minor Planet; Dr. Enver Uzun (Turkey), Javid and Women in Contemporary Life; Assoc. Prof. Azer Turan, (Azerbaijan) "Javid's Istanbul Period";  Dr. Yusuf Gedikli, (Turkey) Javid's Istanbul Letters;  Ramiz Mirzayev (Azerbaijan) and Nurten Remzi (Bulgaria), H.Javid World Literature.

In the second session moderated  by Assoc. Prof. Mehdi Genceli, the participants and the topics discussed were as follows: Prof. Dr. Kulzhibek Kusmanova, (Kazakhstan), Examination of Creativity of H. Javid; Gülsayazhan Yessimbeyeva (Kazakhstan), Huseyn Javid from World Literature; Prof. Dr. Rüstem Ikbal (Uzbekistan),  Huseyn Javid and Uzbek Literature;  Assoc. Prof. Iryna Drıga (Ukraine) and Turan Hümbetova (Azerbaijan), Writers and the Persecution of Stalin;  Assoc. Prof. Sevil Priyeva H.Javid's 'Iblis' Work is in World Literature.
