Third Prize in the EU Young Translators’ Contest

Turan Köylüoğlu, student of the Department of Translation and Interpretation, won the third place in the category of  English language in the "Young Translators Contest" organized by the EU Presidency.

The contest  is organized in order to train sufficient number of translators who will be needed to translate the EU acquis into Turkish in the studies on the harmonization process of public institutions and organizations, private sector and non governmental organizations with the European Union (EU).

The competition has been held since 2010 in order to raise awareness of the EU membership process and the acquisition translation works  and to contribute to the training of translators to be trained in this field.

Turan Köylüoğlu, one of our students in the Department of Translation and Interpretation, won the third place in the English language category of the contest, in which 97 students from 25 universities participated this year.
