Organized by the Marmara University Alumni Office Coordination, the "Mentor-Marmara Breakfast Event" was held on Sunday, April 6 at Göztepe Campus. The event was attended by over 200 mentors, mentees, and academic staff, including Marmara University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Korkut.
In his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt gave participants general information about the university's academic activities and campus structure. Emphasizing that the Mentor-Marmara project has now become an institutional initiative of the university, Prof. Dr. Kurt stated that their support for the project will continue to increase in order to reach more students.
Stating that the mentoring application offers an effective learning model for both graduates and students, Prof. Dr. Kurt pointed out that this process strengthens intergenerational interaction. He also stated that his communication skills improved thanks to mentoring and that working with young people was exciting. At the end of his speech, he thanked the Alumni Office and all mentors who contributed to the project.
The event continued with an informative presentation by Prof. Dr. Bülent Yılmaz about the Alumni Office and the Mentor-Marmara project. Yılmaz stated that the project has become one of the most effective mentoring programs among universities. The program ended with participants sharing their views and suggestions about the project, opportunities to meet, and suggestions for developing networking opportunities.
