International Symposium on the Past, Present and Future of the Karabakh

The International Symposium on the “ Past, Present and Future of the Karabakh" was held by Marmara University Turkic Studies Institute on 12-13 October 2021 in Istanbul. Within this symposium, which was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Atatürk High Institution of Culture, Language and History, Turkish Historical Society, Marmara University  and Üsküdar Municipality, Karabakh was discussed for 2 days by academicians from 8 abroad and 18 from Turkey.

The opening and first session of the symposium was held on October 12, 2021, at Üsküdar, Bağlarbaşı Congress and Culture Center. Other sessions of the symposium consisting of 7 sessions were held at Marmara University, Faculty of Theology, Prof. Dr. Raşit Küçük Conference Hall. The opening speeches were made by Marmara University Turkic Studies Institute Director Prof. Dr. Okan Yeşilot, Representative of the Presidential Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan Dr. Hatem Cabbarlı, Istanbul Consul of the Republic of Azerbaijan Zaur Allahverdizade, Turkic Council Deputy Secretary-General Dr. Ömer Kocaman and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hazar University Prof. Dr. Hamlet Isahanli.

In the evening of the second day, the symposium program ended with the Bosphorus cruise and dinner on the ferry. Papers presented at the symposium were published by Selenge Publishing under the name of Karabağ.
