The cooperation protocol signed among the Ministry of National Education (MEB), the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Istanbul University (IU) and Marmara University in the field of "art education" was introduced at a meeting held in Istanbul last week.
The protocol, which was signed in Ankara on July 1 with the participation of the Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Rector of Istanbul University Prof.Dr. Mahmut Ak, Rector of ITU Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca and Rector of Marmara University Prof.Dr. Erol Özvar, was introduced in Istanbul at Cağaloğlu Traditional Turkish Arts Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.
The project, which aims to establish high schools that will give only traditional music education within the fine arts high schools, is aimed to emerge the valuable composers and artists of the future.
Within the protocol, Pendik Abdülkadir Meragi Fine Arts High School will continue its activities under the auspices of Marmara University; Beşiktaş Itri Fine Arts High School under the auspices Istanbul University and Başakşehir İsmail Dede Efendi Fine Arts High School under the auspices of Istanbul Technical University. The artists working under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will transfer their knowledge, experience, and visions to the students in these schools through activities to be organized.
