53rd High School Students Research Projects Istanbul Asian Regional Competition Exhibition Opened

The opening of the 53rd High School Students Research Projects Competition exhibition, hosted by Marmara University and organized in cooperation with TÜBİTAK and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, was held on March 14, 2022, at the Mehmet Genç Complex Exhibition Hall. In the competition where a total of 101 projects were exhibited in 12 different fields, the opening speeches were made by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt and TUBITAK Istanbul Asian Regional Coordinator and lecturer of the Marmara University Faculty of Technology Assoc. Prof. Oğuzhan Gündüz.

In his speech, Gündüz said “Development of research projects contributes to the economy and art at a social and universal level. Thanks to these developed projects, you, our students, experience the real-life functioning of many theoretical knowledge. We are trying to raise young generations who are open to education with these competitions we organize.” Assoc. Prof. Gündüz concluded his words by saying "Science begins with imagination".

Talking about the research and technology infrastructure of Marmara University in his speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt said, “As a research university, we are mobilizing our entire education and research infrastructure for hardworking and productive young people. You have taken part in your projects here today, I consider you all to have already received degrees. Thank you to your parents and teachers who raised you.”

After the exhibition opening, the participants visited the project stands in the exhibition space. The final program and award ceremony of the 53rd High School Students Research Projects Competition will be held on Thursday, 17th March at the Mehmet Genç Kulliye.
