A Study on Coronavirus Early Warning System in Wastewaters

The project studies were carried out by Assoc. Prof. Bilge Alpaslan Kocamemi, who is a lecturer of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Marmara University,  since April 2020 in order to investigate the presence of the Covid-19 virus in wastewater and to develop an early warning system against possible risks in this regard continue.

Significant progress has been made in the project, which was carried out under the coordination of the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Turkish Water Institute (SUEN). At this point, Turkey is known as the leading country in Europe and Africa with its studies on “coronavirus early warning system” in wastewater that enable the spread of the virus to be observed in a healthier way.
