Iftar  Meeting  with the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) Scholarship International Students at Marmara University

CoHE President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar came together with CoHE Scholarship students at the iftar program, which was held at the Marmara University Göztepe Campus on April 29, 2022.

The Iftar invitation including 80 students from 15 countries was attended by Deputy President  of CoHE Prof. Dr. Safa Kapıcıoğlu and Prof. Dr. Rahmi Er, Member of the Executive Board of CoHE Prof. Dr. Ömer Açıkgöz, Marmara University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Düzce University Rector Prof. Dr. Nigâr Demircan Çakar, Trakya University Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu, Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University Rector Prof. Dr. Mümin Şahin, Rector of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Prof. Dr. Nuri Aydın and Marmara University Vice Rector Prof. Dr.  Mustafa Çelen.

In his welcome speech, CoHE President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar said, “On the occasion of this invitation, we are having iftar meal with our students who come to our country from various countries of the world to receive education in higher education. Turkey has become a safe education center for international students in recent years. Our universities, Universities in our country, the number of which has reached 204 in our country, provide education services not only to the students of the Republic of Turkey but also to all nations of the world, with an understanding that offers excellent quality education opportunities and sees international students as their own students. The international competitive power of undergraduate education in Turkey allows students from many parts of the world to come to our country and universities. As the Council of Higher Education, we wish to be in an extraordinary effort to increase our international higher education competitiveness by increasing our current international student numbers to higher levels and providing students from different nationalities with the universal human values, a high level of knowledge, skills and competencies required by science and technology. On this occasion, I would like to greet and welcome our international students from different universities, especially our rectors and lecturers, who are around this beautiful table.”

After the welcome speech, a music concert was presented by Marmara University Turkish Music Ensemble under the direction of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Uslu. The program ended after Erol Özvar and university rectors listened to the experiences of international students in Turkey.
