Inst. Dr. Serdar Orkun Pelvan from the Faculty of Sport Sciences took place as security officer in the 4th National  Antarctic Science Expedition that was held under the auspices of Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.

4th National Antarctic Science Expedition was held between February 9 and March 9, 2020, under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and  responsibility of Ministry of Industry of Technology. It was carried out by the coordinatorship  of Tubitak MAM Kare.

A total of 15 scientific projects in the fields of applied and basic sciences were launched throughout the expedition. During  expedition, three GNSS (Global Locator Stations) and one meteorological station were established. With the aim of determining the level of physical and psychological fatigue that occurred during the Antarctic Expedition, scientific studies were carried out by Inst. Dr. Serdar Orkun Pelvan.
