Marmara Europe Week Activities Starts

The opening conference of the "Marmara Europe Week Activities", organized on the occasion of 9 May Europe Day in cooperation with Marmara University European Research Institute and Economic Development Foundation, was held on 11 May 2022, in Göztepe Campus Institutes Building Conference Hall.

The opening speech of the event, which started with a music concert under the direction of Mustafa Uslu, was made by Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt.  Stating that the goal of the Republic of Turkey to become a member of the European Union is one of the most important elements of the political and economic integration process with the West in the new world order after the Second World War, Prof. Dr. Kurt said “I would like to state that the European Union is fundamentally different from other international organizations of which Turkey is a member. This fundamental difference has turned into a project of coexistence that puts the European Union's economic integration at the center and enables the European peoples to live in harmony.”

Prof. Dr. Johannes Regenbrecht, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Istanbul, took part as a speaker in the panel titled “European Union and Turkey-Germany Relations” moderated by the Director of the European Studies Institute Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Dartan.

The events will continue between 11- 18 May. You can access the event calendar from the link below.
