The Historical Success of Marmara University in the 2022 European University Games

Marmara University participated in the competitions in Karate, Taekwondo and Tennis branches in the European University Games, which was held in Lodz, Poland between 16-30 July in 20 different sports branches, in which more than 6 thousand athletes from 46 countries took part.

Having won 2 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze medals, Marmara University ranked 17th in the European University Games, where more than 400 universities participated, and thus showed an international historical success.

Our athletes competing in individual competitions in karate won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal, while the Men's Karate Team consisting of 5 people won the 3rd place cup and 5 bronze medals. Taekwondo team won 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals.

Achievements of Karate Kumite Team:

Aysima Karakaya (-61 kg) 1st place

Hasan Arslan (-84 kg) 2nd place

Ömer Faruk Arslan (+84 kg) 3rd place

Karate Men's Team consisting of İbrahim Talha Geçgel, Alperen Yaman, İhsan Ömer Finger, Hasan Arslan, Ömer Faruk Arslan 3rd place

Seher Şen (-46 kg) 1st place

Oğulcan Çalık (+58 kg), 2nd place

Şevval Gül (Poomse) 2nd Place

Yusuf Şahin (Poomse) 2nd place

Muhammed Enes Şahin (+74 kg) 3rd place
