In the "2022 Barrier-Free Universities Awards" ceremony, which was held under the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education and organized to encourage the creation of an unhindered ecosystem in Universities, the winners  were announced  by CoHE Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.

Marmara University was deemed worthy of 6 awards in the "Educational Accessibility" category and 4 awards in the "Spatial Accessibility" category within the scope of the Barrier-Free University Awards in 2022. While the  Faculty of Atatürk  Education, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Health Sciences  are entitled to receive the Green Flag in the category of "Educational Accessibility"; Atatürk Faculty of Education D Block Additional Building, Departments Building, Institutes Building, Central Library Building were awarded the Orange Flag in the category of “Spatial Accessibility”.
