Marmara University Sports and Recreation Awards (MWins) Found Their Owners

Marmara University Sports and Recreation (MWins) awards, organized for the first time this year, with the support of Polin Waterparks, realized together by Marmara University students and all academic and administrative staff and evaluating the national and international achievements of the previous year in the field of sports and recreation, found their owners on "MWins Awards Online Special Broadcast", held in 19.06.2021  on "Marmara MWins" youtube channel.  

A candidate pool was created under 13 different categories with the suggestions of the academic and administrative staff of Marmara University Faculty of Sports Sciences. Then, The MWINS jury committee, which consists of experienced names from the academy and the industry, determined the candidate recommendation as 3 for each category and, subsequently,  the ranking was determined by submitting to the online voting of the entire Marmara University family and the public. 80,275 votes were cast in the online voting through

Rector of Marmara University Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar assumed the presidency of the jury, in which M.U. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Beykoz Mayor Murat Aydın, Dean of M.U. Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof.Dr. Ali Kızılet, Milliyet Newspaper Sports Writer Atilla Gökçe, Polin Waterparks Communication Director Şöhret Pakiş, Sports and Recreation Scientist Dr. Ümit Keskin, Member of the Board of the Turkish National Olympic Committee Şükran Albayrak, Physical Education and Sports Alumni Association President Assoc. Prof. Kamil Erdem, M.U. Student Council President Hüseyin Özer took place as jury members.

Shedding light on the exciting and laborious way of MWINS Marmara University Sports and Recreation Awards, Marmara University Rector Prof. Dr. Erol ÖZVAR  said: "As the Marmara University family, we are happy to organize the Marmara University Sports and Recreation (MWins) awards competition, where we will evaluate national and international achievements in the field of sports and recreation for the first time. We would like to thank our volunteer students and our supporter, Polin Waterparks, who contributed to our organization. Finally, I congratulate all the candidates who have devoted their lives and time to sports and recreation. I would like to thank everyone who took care of this organization and stood by us with their votes once again."

We congratulate all the winners on this project, which also has a social responsibility aspect within the scope of the cooperation with the Tema Foundation, and wish them continued successes.
