New TÜSEB Project Under the Execution of Marmara University

The project named  “Nanofiber Domestic Wound Dressing Production with Anti-bacterial and Anti-Biofilm Feature Natural Polymer and Herbal Active Substance for the Treatment of Chronic Wounds”, under the execution of the  Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy and Nanotechnology and Biomaterials Application and Research Center will be carried out in partnership with Süleyman Demirel University Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.

The  project team in which  Prof. Dr. Gülgün Tınaz will take part as a  project director includes the names the following:  Prof. Dr. Azize Sener, Assoc. Prof. Ozlem Bingol, Assoc. Prof.  Ali Sen,  Lect. Dr.  Halil Aksoy, Assoc. Prof. Oguzhan Gunduz, Lect.Dr. Mustafa Şengör, Prof. Dr. Seyhan Ulusoy from from Süleyman Demirel University,  Prof. Dr. Ayhan Oral from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and Dr. Salih Can Suner .

Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to produce a domestic product that can be used in the treatment of diabetic foot wounds and other chronic wounds, which cause very high costs to both patients and health systems, as well as effective, non-toxic and contains natural, herbal molecules that will reduce our country's dependence on foreign sources. In addition, since there is no commercial nanofiber product with these properties needed in chronic wound treatment, it is expected that this product will be produced with domestic means to fill the gap needed, thus contributing to domestic branding and our national economy.
